Drama As Union Congress was thrown into confusion (video)

A Union congress among the Students of the Ondo State University, Okitipupa, (OSUSTECH) was thrown into confusion today.

The proposed congress that should be held  on the 6th March, 2019 has been disrupted as a result of the absense of the actual presiding officer.

STECHITE GIST observed that the SUG President, Comrade Kingsley, and the House Speaker, Matthew were absent in today's gathering. It was reported that the President was away to defend his academic projects.

The Chief Whip of the Student Representative Council, identified as Idris, decided to preside the congress.

The Vice-President of the Union,  Comrade Oluwabukunmi, General Secretary, AGS and some other executives were displeased with this motion.

They were stirred up by the action taken by the Chief whip to preside the congress.

Constitution has it that in the absence of the President and Speaker, either the vice-president or the deputy speaker is permitted to preside the congress.

But it was a great surprise when the whole Students saw the chief whip addressing them on the pulpit and trying to preside the union congress.

This action has led to a total disagreement between the Executive and Legislative councils of the union.

STECHITE GIST gathered that in the previous congress held around last year, there was a misunderstanding between the SRC and CEC of the union over alleged embezzlement of the union fund, until it was later resolved.

Hereafter, as the General Secretary, mounts the pulpit to resolve issues, the former faculty governor of sciences (100level) identified as dopechef felt bittered and decided to walk up to the secretary to dispute his decision and this prompted an unruly act.

This action compelled several students to exit the venue with an immediate effect.

However, the congress has been adjourned till further notice.
