    When news co-anchor Rachel Kim made the “Oh!” sound, the broadcast switched to commercials.

    While waiting for medical assistance, “our team jumped in to help and comfort her,” CBS LA said. Currently healing, Alissa is updating her social media accounts.

    Carlson thanked fans for “all the texts, calls, and well wishes” in a Facebook post. I’ll be alright, she wrote.

    Personal Life Details of Alissa Carlson

    In high school, Alissa became a broadcast journalist like her mother. She was hooked after securing a part-time radio DJ position at a nearby AM station.

    Alissa completed a Bachelor of Science at Illinois State University after high school, then a Certificate in Broadcast Meteorology at Mississippi State University.

    She graduated from high school as a salutatorian. Alissa applied for a nightly news anchor position at WQAD in Moline, Illinois, while still in college. She rose to become one of the nation’s youngest TV hosts.

    Before taking jobs in Greenville, North Carolina, and Jacksonville, Florida, she worked in the Quad Cities, the television market of her hometown.

    The National Weather Association has awarded Alissa their esteemed Seal of Approval. The Associated Press’ Mark Twain Award for Best Weathercast was given to Alissa in 2010.

    Additionally, she received the Kern Press Club’s award for Best Weathercast in Bakersfield in 2009 and 2011. Alissa received four Emmys for her weather reporting from 2014 to 2018 for the KGET News at 5 p.m. program.
