A 35-year-old Kenyan journalist who worked for Standard Media Group was slain by unidentified gunmen.
On December 22, 2022, the morning of a Thursday, Moses Okiror Omusolo’s lifeless body was discovered discarded along the bustling Kang’undo Road in Nairobi.
The cause of death of the media figure, who also wrote pieces for Nation Media Group, is yet unknown.
The wedding of Mr. Omusulo, who was engaged, was scheduled to take place in February 2023.
He was a 2013 Masinde Muliro University graduate.
According to the authorities, a black backpack found near to his body contained personal papers that let them identify him.
Additionally, they think that he was murdered elsewhere and that his body was afterwards thrown in the ditch where it was discovered.
According to Mr. Adamson Bungei, the head of the Nairobi County police department, “the corpse of the dead was transferred to the morgue and currently investigations are proceeding to identify what might have transpired.”
He passed away only a year after another journalist named Gatonye Gathura was discovered dead.
He worked for the Standard Media Group and was a seasoned Health and Science journalist.
Mr. Gatonye vanished on October 21, 2021, and his body was identified as “an unknown male adult” on October 26 at the Naivasha Sub-County Referral Hospital mortuary.
Then, according to the police, his body was discovered on the Naivasha-Mai Mahiu Road on the same day that he had gone missing.
