EFCC nabs Senator, Ifechukwu Makwe for alleged €5.7m internet fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has detained a phoney Senator, Ifechukwu Tom Makwe, for alleged online fraud of €5.7 million (five million, seven hundred thousand euros).
Makwe was apprehended in Abuja’s Guzape neighbourhood after credible information about his internet-related fraud activities surfaced.

When the suspect was apprehended, it was determined that he had used many aliases (Fahad Makwe, Senator Tompolo, Tom Makwe, and Dr. Bran) to cheat a Spaniard out of five million, seven hundred thousand euros (€5.7 million).

Makwe allegedly pretended to be a US Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI agent, and diplomatic solicitor in order to scam his victim.
The defendant allegedly began scamming the victim in 2013, when he met her on social media for the first time.

As soon as the investigations are completed, he will be charged in court.
