Hon. Justice Musa Dattijo Muhammad entered the world on October 27, 1953, amidst the scenic backdrop of Chanchaga Local Government Area in Minna, Niger State. The canvas of his education unfurled at the Native Authority School, Minna, from 1960 to 1966, followed by a sojourn at Sheikh Sabbah College (now Sardauna Memorial Secondary School, Kaduna) for his secondary education spanning 1967 to 1971.
The academic odyssey then led him to Abdullahi Bayero College (now Bayero University, Kano) in 1972, culminating in the acquisition of his Pre-degree Certificate in 1973. Subsequently, the pursuit of legal knowledge saw him enrolling in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he earned his LLB (Hons.) in 1976 and later pursued a BL at the Nigerian Law School, concluding in 1977.
Expanding the horizons of his legal acumen, he ventured to Warwick University in Coventry, UK, for his LLM from 1982 to 1983, and furthered his studies at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, obtaining an Advanced Certificate in Practice and Procedure.

Embarking on his professional journey, Hon. Justice Dattijo commenced as a Higher Registrar at the High Court of Justice in Minna in 1976, seamlessly dovetailing this with his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) stint between 1977 and 1978. His trajectory within the legal arena soared with his appointment as a Magistrate Grade II in 1978, progressing steadily to become the Chief Magistrate in 1984.
Elevating his role, he assumed the position of Chief Registrar in 1986 and ascended to the esteemed post of a High Court Judge in Niger State in 1989. His illustrious judicial career continued its upward trajectory as he donned the robes of a Justice of the Court of Appeal in 1998, subsequently presiding over the Sokoto Division in 2009 and the Port Harcourt Division in 2010.
In a pinnacle moment on July 10, 2012, Hon. Justice Dattijo reached the zenith of his legal career as he assumed the distinguished role of a Supreme Court Justice in Nigeria, a mantle he proudly upholds to this day. Additionally, in June 2022, he added another feather to his cap, being appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the National Judicial Council.
Beyond the hallowed halls of justice, Hon. Justice Dattijo finds joy in marital bliss and parenthood. Delving into the realm of leisure, his interests span a diverse landscape, encompassing the tranquil pursuit of fishing, the immersive world of reading, the cinematic allure of Hausa films, and the melodic resonance of Hausa music.
