President Bola Tinubu praised Liberian President George Weah on Saturday for displaying exceptional leadership by conceding the election and preventing any form of socio-political crisis in the recently concluded Presidential Election.
In his commendation, Tinubu congratulated President-elect Joseph Boakai, acknowledging his mandate from the people.
He urged Boakai to unite the country and leverage the widespread support expressed through the ballot box to deliver effective governance to the people of Liberia.
A statement, titled ‘President Tinubu congratulates Liberians and commends President Weah’s leadership following the presidential election,’ signed by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, conveyed Tinubu’s felicitations to the people of Liberia for the successful conduct of the election.
Tinubu highlighted Weah’s act of democratic sportsmanship as exemplary, especially in West Africa’s current climate, where democracy faces challenges from actors seeking to undermine the people’s will.
