Senator Opeyemi Emerges Majority Leader

Senator Bamidele Opeyemi of the Ekiti Central Senatorial District has been named Majority Leader of the 10th Senate, with Senator Ali Ndume of the Borno South Senatorial District as Chief Whip. Senate President Godswill Akpabio presided over the closed-door meeting during which the appointments were made.

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) recommended that Senator Opeyemi be appointed Majority Leader and Senator Ndume be appointed Chief Whip. This action is expected to have a substantial impact on the Senate’s legislative agenda and actions in the following months.

Senator Opeyemi’s nomination as Majority Leader demonstrates his power and leadership in the Senate, where he represents the interests of the Ekiti Central Senatorial District. Senator Ndume’s nomination as Chief Whip, likewise, recognises his status and obligations as Senator of Borno South Senatorial District.
