The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor of Imo State, Governor Hope Uzodimma, has been proclaimed the victor of the Saturday’s poll.
On Sunday in Ower, the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, made this announcement.
The governor received 540,308 votes to defeat rival candidates, according to the State Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Abayomi Fasina, the vice-chancellor of the University of Oye-Ekiti in Ekiti State.
Athan Achonu, the candidate for the Labour Party, received 64,081 votes, while Samuel Anyanwu, the candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party, came in third place with 71,503 votes, according to INEC.

According to INEC, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate, Samuel Anyanwu, came a distant second with 71,503 votes, while the Labour Party candidate, Athan Achonu, came third with 64,081 votes.
